Alaska State Fair 2025: Da Vinci Exhibit Opens Amidst Exciting New Additions

The Alaska State Fair officially opened its doors on August 15, 2025, ushering in a season of festivities, food, and fun in Palmer. One of the standout features this year is the Da Vinci Exhibit, a museum-quality showcase included with fair admission. This exhibition brings to life the genius of Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci, featuring his inventions, anatomical studies, and renowned paintings. Fairgoers can explore this immersive experience daily at the Don Sheldon Events Center.

In addition to the Da Vinci Exhibit, the fair has expanded its offerings with approximately 70 new food vendors, providing a diverse array of culinary delights. From fresh seafood and reindeer burgers to innovative treats like fried peaches with ice cream, there’s something to satisfy every palate.

The fair’s schedule includes daily entertainment such as the Fred Scheer’s Lumberjack Show, the Native Youth Olympics, and the Puppy Pals stunt show. Visitors can also enjoy the Great Alaskan Coffee Roaster Competition, where local roasters compete for the title of best brew.

For those interested in local arts and crafts, the fair’s exhibits feature categories like flowers, baked goods, and creative arts. Competitions such as the Cabbage Limerick Contest and the Recycled Yard Art Special Contest add a unique Alaskan flair to the event.

The Alaska State Fair runs daily through September 1, with hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, as construction on the Glenn Highway may affect travel times.
