However, the film proved to be more intense than she anticipated, leaving her feeling “disturbed, stressed, and traumatized.” Gauff even screamed during the screening and described the experience as “creepy and unsafe.”
The situation was further heightened when she had to drive back alone on deserted roads late at night. She later shared her feelings on social media, advising others against watching scary movies alone and then driving in the middle of the night. Despite the distressing incident, Gauff advanced to the quarterfinals and was set to face Jasmine Paolini.
